Donovan McNabb believes there is room for improvement regarding Sean Mannion's play-calling for Jalen Hurts in the Philadelphia Eagles' 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon.

Hurts got the seventh season of his NFL career underway with the Eagle. He shines as one of the best quarterbacks in the league, having led the team to the Super Bowl in 2024.
Hurts had a solid day in the season opener, completing 14 out of 25 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns while rushing seven times for 46 yards.

McNabb, a franchise legend, appeared on an episode of SportsRadio 94WIP. He provided his critique of the performance, wanting more plays that feature Hurts using his mobility in the run game.
"Having the run game be more of an extension of the run game. I just think for this offense to gel and to continue to grow, we have to be able to establish that run game and utilize our play action game," McNabb said.
How Jalen Hurts, Eagles played against Commanders
Donovan McNabb will hope for better offensive performances from the Eagles. In the meantime, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles start the year 1-0 after beating the Commanders at home.

Philadelphia had the edge over Washington in the first half, outscoring the visitors 14-9. The Commanders tried fighting back, getting the deficit down to two points but the Eagles held on to prevail over their division foe.
Saquon Barkley had a decent outing in the run game, recording 15 rushes for 83 yards. Dallas Goedert led the receiving attack with four catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Dontayvion Wicks made two receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 2 as kickoff commences on Sept. 20 at 1 p.m. ET.
